Who are we
missing?
Nominations are open for the Project C 100: Creator Journalists to Watch, 2027. Tell us who belongs on it. Nominations close November 13.
Nominate someone ↓In January, Project C will publish the Project C 100, a list of the creator journalists people should know right now. Last year we published our first list, the Top 50. This year we’re going bigger, and we want your help finding the people we’d otherwise miss.
Who we’re looking for
Anyone building an audience as a trusted source of news and information. That includes reporters who left newsrooms to go independent. It also includes experts, practitioners, academics and people reporting on their own communities from lived experience.
It doesn’t matter where they publish. TikTok, YouTube, a newsletter, a podcast, Instagram, a WhatsApp channel, a print zine. All of it counts. Free work counts as much as paid. And it’s open to creators anywhere in the world.
Yes, you can nominate yourself. And you can nominate as many people as you like, one form per person.
How we choose
We look at impact first. Who’s reaching people and changing how they think? That’s about the quality of the audience, not the follower count.
Then innovation. Who’s doing journalism in a way a newsroom wouldn’t, or couldn’t?
This isn’t a popularity contest. Nominations help us find people we’d otherwise miss, but they aren’t votes. We’re also looking at the data and asking people who know these beats to send us names. The final list isn’t ranked.
Friday, November 13, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
The list launches in January 2027.
We don’t publish nominations. Only the final 100 goes public.
Sponsors support Project C’s work. They have no say in who’s on the list.
